Grey County’s waterfalls are every bit as beautiful in the winter. Now is the perfect time to pull on your boots or strap on some snowshoes and hike to a twinkling frozen waterfall. Bring your camera and a Thermos of hot chocolate for a perfect afternoon outing, or plan a route and spend a weekend visiting all six waterfalls on our tour.

Family Day Weekend in Grey
Family Day takes place on February 20 this year, and Grey County is gearing up for 3 days of play this Family Day weekend. Here are some activities to consider:
Lupercalia, February 18: Downtown Owen Sound comes alive with audiences and artists filling restaurants, cafés, stores, and galleries - a total of 44 musical acts plus visual art in 19 different venues. All-ages armbands are available for family-friendly events.
Winterama in Hepworth, February 18: Get outside and have fun skiing, skating, snowmobiling and snowshoeing while helping area Rotary Clubs and Suntrail Outfitters to raise funds for youth in Grey and Bruce counties.
Georgian Bay Skijor and Dogsled Dash at Cobble Beach, February 18-19: Come watch skijor and dogsled races at all levels (beginner to expert) including Kid’n’Mutt races to 4 and 6 mile dogsled sprints. Ski and snowshoe groomed trails all weekend.
Family Day Weekend at Blue Mountain, February 18-20: Much more than just skiing and boarding! Enjoy a birds of prey show, guided snowshoeing, horse & wagon rides, a fire dance show (Saturday 8pm), and fireworks (Sunday 8pm). Also, ride the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster, take a dip at The Plunge! and skate on the Mill Pond all winter long.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Elvis Family Day at Grey Roots Museum and Archives, February 20: Inspired by the exhibit, ELVIS: Grace and Grit, Family Day gets "all shook up" with a Rock ‘n’ Roll theme. Enjoy special crafts, scavenger hunts throughout the museum, and Elvis-themed movies.

Warm Up to Winter - More Ways to Play in Grey
Wiarton Willie Festival, Wiarton, February 1-5: The Wiarton Willie Festival is the one of largest winter events in Ontario with over 40 different events to celebrate Canada's most famous prognosticating groundhog. The festival runs Wednesday through Sunday with comedy, music and more. On February 2nd, come to Wiarton for the big event: gather in Bluewater Park at 7:30, Wiarton Willie will make his predictions for spring at 8:07am.
Ontario Winter Games, Thornbury, March 8-11: The Games showcase Ontario's best amateur athletes in a variety of sports, from biathlon to gymnastics to diving. To see if your favourite sport will be showcased, check the events schedule.
18th Annual Holstein Maplefest, Love's Sugar Bush, April 14 & 15: Edu-tainment at its best: all day pancake and sausage breakfast, craft sale, kids entertainment, 30 demonstrations and displays set in the heart of the sugar bush.
